English Challenges

My final blog.... this is a pitty!

During this semester I have learned a lot about English. I had never before enjoyed so much the English courses. Miss Rosa do exercises very funny and the time flies in her classes. I've always thought that the blog is a free instance to learn because you can put in your post the things that you like, your opinions, etc.

I still feel that there are topics that I need to reinforce, for example the
verb conjugations and especially I need to expand my vocabulary. Sometimes I don't understand what people say, just because I don't know some words.

The next year I want to start a intensive course of English in some specialized place, to talk more often and practice the lenguage. Also, I think that a trip to some country where people speak English would be a very good exercise to incorporate English properly. This trip is in my plans, I have hope to do it in two years, and I would like to visit Australia, Canada or Irlanda. Some people told me that the Irish accent is very complicated and different to the American accent.

In my daily life I do not usually use very often English. Sometimes I need to read papers in this lenguage for some subject especially for Prehistoria and  laboratories. To study Archaeology, is very important to have good Enligsh, because  all new publications are in English...I have suffered a lot along this carreer because my English is not the best and everything is more difficult to me.
I hope to write soon, a hug for everyone!!!

2015 Reflections Have you had a good year?

Hello friends! How are you?

Today I will talk about this year. Personally this year hasn't been a good time, but if I had to rescue some things I can mention my new home. Since I started living alone I  began to learn a lot of things very important to my life: I learned to spend time alone and enjoy these moments in my own space. I had to be strong in the difficult times and develop my own aptitudes and strength. In spite of this, sometimes I felt very lonely and sad and I've been distracted with the study in the university.  This change was very strong for me, and I've taken some time to assume it.

In the last time, I have been improving in my qualifications because I was being more dedicated. I am very proud of my achievements and I feel I have matured with this time living alone. Today I can enjoy more about my subjects, until I can say that I have a favorite: Taller de investigación. In this class I created my own thesis project and each week I need to read more and more about my theme: The rock art Diaguita.

Anyway, this is my last year at the university and I'll enjoy everything I can!!!! I just think that only good things come like Christmas, New year, holidays and my degree! Positive thinking is always my key of life.

Bye friends :)

Summer plans

Hello!
This post is the funniest that I have done in this course. Today I will talk about my summer plans! I guess we all are waiting for the summer, this is the best time of the year, I love it.

For this summer I intend to visit the coast of Peru and Ecuador during one month. I would like to travel with two friends called Pamela and Silvana, and possibly my boyfriend Andoni and his friends. We will be a large group and it will be funny. If I go to Peru I want to visit my sister María Gracia; she lives in Lima with her grandmother Vilma and her sister Arianna. Also, I want to know some montain villages, Machu Picchu  and go to the Amazon rainforest, but first I need to get vaccinated. From this way, I can prevent disease.

Then, If I had the opportunity to go to Ecuador, I want to know the different beaches throughout the country. Also, I would like to know the important cities, but most importantly I would like to share with local people rather than visiting touristic places. I'd love to know more about their customs and ways of living. Being an anthropologist everywhere is exciting!

However, not everything in my summer is travelling. I need to do my practice this summer, and throughout January I will be in the Limari Valley in workfield. I'm seeing a lot of petroglyphs! This experience will be very gratifying...

My Best Friend

Hello!

Today I will talk about my best friend...

She is Silvana Gajardo and I love her a lot! We have been friends since the kinder, but we were never very close until now. When I was five, Silvana was in the same level than me but she was in the level A and I in the level B. We never stayed in the same class, but I knew her because she was travelling on the same autobus that me. The driver of this autobus was my uncle Luz María.

Since the first grade we have been friends, but we were never the best friends. When we entered to high school our classes were mixed and Silvana was my classmate. We formed a group of seven friends: Silvana, Valeria, Fernanda, Claudia, Beatriz, Karina and obviously me. Silvana and Beatriz were friends since kinder... and my best friend was always  Claudia but when we left the school the things changed.

This was the beginning of our friendship and since we left the school  five years have passed. I and she have always been very similar, we like the same things as:  the breakdance (in the present we dance every week together), do aircloth in the trees, draw and we have a lot of friends in common. Our friends are musicians and we always go to gigs where they play.

I have a lot of memories with her that I will never forget...  The most important memory was my birthdays. Silvana has always been with me in this day so important to me, and I am eternally grateful for it. She is a great person (very funny too!) and one of the most beautiful person that exist to me <3.

How green are you?

I think that I am very ecologist in my daily life. I learned about the enviromental practices in campus JGM, specifically in philosophy faculty when  I participed in the “ecological garden”. It was made of plastic bottles and you could plant a lot of seeds of different vegetables for your own use.
I often integrate the recycling into my habits, since I have been living alone in my apartment. I separate the plastic and carton from the other materials, and then I deposited the selection into the ecological trash in a special space in the building. I think that is one of the most thing that people who live in Santiago forget. This is not and habit in the majority of the population, for this reason in a year a lot of materials that could be used to build, are lost.
I try to have a healthy and ecological life and for this reason I choose the bike. You can go everywhere easily and with this transport you don’t contaminated the city and the rest of living beings.  For the moment I don’t have time to supported any eco-organization, but in the future I want to do it. If I participate of one organization, I would like to make more stands for the ecological trash in my building but also I want to keep these materials for recycling.
I think that my worst action that contribute the carbon footprint is that I eat a lof of meat in to a week.  I was vegetarian during two years but I come back to eat meat because I love it, I can resist the tentation L … Anyway I know that the meat is the best business in the world and is the principal cause of the carbon footprint.  Don't forget it!.

My future job

Hello friends! how are you?

Today I will talk about my future job. No one else has doubts about your future?

It's a topic very confuse to me but I think that in the future i would like to work something about arqueology and if posible I want to travel around the world, knowing different places, different cultures and countries.

Even though I love my career, actually the archaeology is more science that antropology , so i think that it should has to open its investigations to a social area. In other words i want to work in something related to heritage and if it were possible work and life with indigenous communities. I want to know how the archaeological remains were seen by the communities and what they have to say about these. Through this dialogue with the communities I can know about  their way of seeing the world for understand their culture and why they are what they are.

I love the outdoor work of archaeologist. My practices have been very entertaining and I enjoyed doing excavations and prospecting different areas like the pampa, the beach or the forest. I am very happy to have chosen this career, I hope to work as archaeologist in the future, this would be great!

A day to remember

I love my Ezequiel, you are my light!

I will always remember the July 16th 2014. It was cold and it was raining , and I was in the house of my boyfriend when my celphone started to ring. It was my mother and she was crying.  She told me that my nephew  was dead and in that moment my life stopped. I couldn`t  believe this, I didn’t understand anything. She explained me that the little Ezequiel fell into the pool and he was there for 7 minutes. I ran to the hospital and I saw how all my family was crying and praying for the life of my nephew.

In one second the hopes came back to all of us, when the doctor said that Ezequiel got off to the heart attack. Then, all the thing started to get better.  This is the most important piece of news that I had received in my life…. I only wanted to cry of happiness.
Two weeks later Ezequiel was getting better. All his body reacted very well  after the accident. The water slowly started to get off his head, muscles, lungs and all his tissue and one month after the accident he learned to walk again. This is the best miracle of my life. It was always in my memories.
